I am Tanya and I am a Director and part owner of The Redwoods Country Kindergarten. I have been working in early childhood education for over ten years and during my time immersed in this amazing profession I have developed a passion for strengthening the relationship between children and the natural world. I have observed the many ways nature enriches children’s learning from developing their creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to supporting their confidence, their physical skills and most importantly enhancing their overall sense of well being. My other passions in early childhood education include opening children up to the wonderful world of visual arts and creating learning provocations that entice, inspire and evoke curiosity. I am excited to be working alongside Jan and Trish as we bring our dream of providing quality early childhood education to life within this amazing location nestled among nature.
I live with my husband Kieran on a lifestyle block in New Plymouth where we are kept busy with renovating our property and caring for our many pets including Percy, Asha (cats), Juno, Nugsey (kunekunes), Delilah and Penelope (sheep).
