Our Philosophy
Our People
· Aroha, awhi and kia ngākau atawhai underpins our teaching so that each tamaiti feels safe, secure, valued, loved and respected.
· Through uninterrupted time and space, tamariki will have opportunities to play - to explore, wonder, imagine, think, create and be. Their interests will be supported and their curiosities evoked through nature, the use of quality resources and mindful teaching.
· Tamariki, whānau and kaiako are valued and celebrated for their individuality and the special strengths and knowledge they bring to this place. We honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ākonga are empowered to learn and grow within our bicultural community
· The essence of the tamaiti is at the heart of everything we do and our assessment, planning and evaluation will reflect this and capture the voices of our people. By maintaining a small group size, whānau and kaiako can work together to meet the individual needs of each tamaiti so they may grow to their full potential.
Our Place
Our tamariki will be inspired in a country environment where we strive for an atmosphere that is peaceful, fun-filled and harmonious. The gifts of nature and sustainable practices are widely used to encourage kaitiakitanga and to impart key curriculum knowledge. Tamariki will be inspired to develop life-long skills and positive dispositions for learning.
